The basics
Who is Super Hamza for?
Children aged about 5 to 12. Younger players enjoy it most with a grown-up nearby to read the lesson cards with them; older children can play on their own. The Parent Corner has settings that make the game easier for children who need it (see below).
Does it need the internet? Are there ads or in-app purchases?
No to all three. You buy Super Hamza once on Google Play, and that's it: no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts and no chat. The game doesn't connect to the internet at all, so it plays anywhere.
Which devices does it run on?
Android phones and tablets running Android 8.0 or later. The game plays in landscape. It has on-screen touch buttons, and it also works with a keyboard or a gamepad connected to the device.
The game is coming soon to Google Play for Android. There's no iPhone or iPad version yet.
Can two children play on the same device?
The game keeps one journey per device, so two children on one tablet will share the same progress. If each child has their own device, each gets their own journey.
Progress and saving
How is progress saved?
Automatically, on the device, as your child plays. Nothing is saved online. On the title screen, Continue Journey goes straight to the next unfinished level, and Play Adventure opens the world map.
How do I erase progress and start again?
- On the title screen, tap Parent Corner and answer the grown-up question.
- Tap Erase progress, then Yes, erase.
This erases levels, cards, good deeds, tokens and outfits. It keeps your settings (language, sound, text size and so on). It can't be undone.
To remove absolutely everything, including settings, uninstall the game, or open Android's Settings > Apps > Super Hamza > Storage > Clear storage.
We have a new phone. Can we keep our progress?
Progress isn't stored in an account, so we can't move it for you. But if your old device's Android backup is turned on, Android may restore the game's progress when you set up the new device or reinstall the game with the same Google account. If it doesn't, your child starts a fresh journey; lesson cards and worlds open again as they play.
The Parent Corner
How do I open the Parent Corner?
On the title screen, tap Parent Corner. It's behind a grown-up gate: answer a multiplication question (such as "What is 7 × 8?") on the number pad. A wrong answer simply brings up a new question.
The gate keeps young children out of grown-up settings by accident. It isn't a password, so older children who know their times tables may get through.
What can I see and change there?
- Progress: levels finished, Noor Tokens, good deeds, Barakah Stars and Amanah Gems, lesson cards unlocked, hidden places found, gifts, and minutes played (in total and this session).
- Gentle mode: five hearts instead of three.
- Break reminder: off, or a gentle reminder after 20, 30 or 45 minutes.
- Jump helper: gives the double jump from the very start.
- Direction hints: switch the automatic arrow on or off.
- Play without music.
- Sound, language and controls: a shortcut to the game's settings.
- Ideas to try at home: every lesson card's "Try it today" activity, grouped by world.
- Erase progress.
How does the break reminder work?
Choose 20, 30 or 45 minutes in the Parent Corner. When that much time has passed, the game suggests a gentle break. It's off unless you turn it on. The Parent Corner also shows how many minutes have been played.
Accessibility
What accessibility settings are there?
Open Settings from the title screen or the pause menu. There are three tabs:
- Sound: music and sound-effect volume, and play without music.
- Screen: text size (Standard, Large or Larger), high contrast, reduced motion and reduced flashing.
- Controls: show or hide the touch buttons, make them bigger, put the jump button on the left for left-handed play, raise them away from the screen edge, and change the keyboard keys and gamepad buttons.
Coloured levers, banners and doors also carry a shape (a triangle, square, circle or star), so children with colour vision differences can tell them apart. All text is checked against WCAG AA contrast.
My child finds some jumps or levels hard. What can help?
- Turn on gentle mode in the Parent Corner for five hearts instead of three.
- Turn on the jump helper for a double jump from the start.
- Keep direction hints on: after a quiet moment, an arrow points the way. Which way? in the pause menu shows it at any time.
There's no game over and no timer. Running out of hearts just takes Hamza back to the last lantern, keeping everything he found, and good deeds are always optional.
Does the game read text aloud?
Not in version 1.0. Every conversation, tip and lesson card is shown as text, and younger children may like a grown-up to read along. Text size and high contrast can make reading easier.
Languages
How do I change the language?
The game starts in English, Arabic or Turkish, following your device's language (any other language starts in English). To change it, open Settings and pick English, العربية or Türkçe. It changes straight away, even mid-level. In Arabic, the whole interface reads right to left.
How is the hadith shown in each language?
The hadith is never machine-translated. English cards use the English translation published on Sunnah.com; Arabic cards show the original Arabic text. Turkish cards use a published Turkish translation, and where none was available, they show the Arabic original. Our own explanations, activities and questions are written for children in each language.
What's in the game
Where do the hadith come from?
Every lesson card quotes an authentic hadith from Imam an-Nawawi's Forty Hadith or Riyad as-Salihin, copied word for word from a published source and named on the card with its narrator and reference. A qualified Islamic scholar has checked every hadith's wording, reference and our explanation. Some hadith are used on more than one card, where they fit the level's theme.
Is there any violence or anything frightening?
No. Creatures in the game, such as the Grumpy Pebble, the Greedy Magpie and the Mischievous Windlings, are cross but cute. Hamza jumps over them, or bounces on them until they go dizzy, and they're never hurt. The final challenge is won by helping others, not by fighting. There's no game over and no shaming: a fall is just "Hamza takes a deep breath and tries again!"
Are the Noor Tokens real money?
No. Noor Tokens are found in the levels and unlock outfits in the Wardrobe. They can't be bought, and nothing in the game can be bought with real money.
Buying and refunds
How do refunds work?
Purchases and refunds are handled by Google Play:
- Within 48 hours of buying, you can request a refund from Google Play directly. Open Google Play, go to your Payments & subscriptions > Budget & history, choose the order and follow Request a refund, or see Google Play's refund help.
- After 48 hours, write to us at [email protected] with your Google Play order number (it starts with "GPA.", and it's in your purchase receipt email). We'll look at every request.
If something is wrong with the game, tell us and we'll try to fix it. Nothing here affects your rights under consumer law where you live.
I bought it on one Android device. Can I install it on another?
Yes. Sign in to Google Play with the same Google account on the other device and install Super Hamza from your library; you won't pay again. Each device keeps its own progress.
